Eldon Claire Lynch, one of Sheridan community’s finest of young men, was born Nov. 17, 1900 and died March 8, 1923.

He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Lynch. Though he died as a young man, Sheridan will long cherish memory of him, for he was loved by all who knew him.

Young Mr. Lynch was blessed with a sunny disposition. He seemed to know only good of his fellowmen. He did not have an enemy and evidently would never have learned to make one even had he lived to the age which his robust health seemed to promise. He was ever ready to assist any one. These fine qualities won him many intimate acquaintances and endeared him to all in the community. With his father he was not only a son, but a comrade. He loved his mother as only a son can. His passing is a serious blow to the parents, but their suffering will be eased in the memory of a son who was so good.

Young Mr. Lynch had entered the garage business nearly two years ago in Sheridan, the place he lived nearly all his life. He was a good mechanic and was speedily developing into an expert at his trade. He was winning the confidence of the public. In short the future promised for him a brilliant care which was unhappily cut short by accidental death.

Deceased was a member of the Odd Fellows, and his Lodge brothers had charge of the funeral.

He is survived by his parents, two grandmothers, Mrs. Wm. Lynch of Brooklyn and Mrs. R. Spire of Tama.

The funeral was held Sunday. Rev. Wissler of Chester conducted the services. Music was by Mrs. Ray Anthony of Sheridan, Mrs. Earl Soth of Tama and Mrs. Lester Dodd of Reinbeck at the piano.

Interment was in the Sheridan cemetery.
