Grace Isabelle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Height, was born Oct. 12, 1882, near Iroquois, South Dakota. The family moved to Deep River when she was 2 years old, making their home there until she was about 15. They then moved to Brooklyn which has since been her home. Graduating from the Brooklyn high school with the class of 1902 she spent two years teaching in the country schools.

September 25th, 1904, she was united in marriage with Earle Warren Eaton. Four daughters, Wanda, Lenore, Ruth and Letta came to bless the home.

Her father died about six years ago, leaving her mother and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hall and Mrs. Lena Crider of Brooklyn and Mrs. Lela Severe of Cedar Rapids.

When 15 years of age she united with the Presbyterian church of Brooklyn of which she has continued a member and earnest devoted worker, working in all the several departments of the church, especially devoting a great deal of time and energy to the choir work through most of these years.

At the time of her death she was vice president of the Women’s Missionary Society.

She was also devoted to the work of the Woman’s Relief Corps of which she was president this year. She was exceedingly punctual and faithful in all the several lines of work she assumed. The burden never seemed to become too heavy or the weather too severe to keep her from her church and choir work.

After a sickness of only a few weeks she went peacefully to sleep Thursday noon, December 6th, 1923.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. E. W. Faris Holler in charge. The pallbearers were A. S. Murrison, W. C. Calderwood, C. A. Berckhan, R. J. Breckenridge, John Montgomery and A. L. Burford.

Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery of Brooklyn.
