BURIED WEDNESDAYFuneral services were said over the body of Mrs. Earl Swink from the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon. They were conducted by the Rev. Harold Bentley of the Forest Home church. Burial was in the local cemetery.
It was one of the largest funerals ever held in this city and bespoke the love and esteem with which the lady was held by all the community.
The following obituary was read at the services:
Lettie Mae, daughter of W.P. and Annie Johnson, was born in Poweshiek county, Iowa, the 9th day of May, 1895, and parted from this life on April 20, 1930, at the age of 34 years, 11 months and 11 days.
She grew to young womanhood and was for several years a teacher in this county.
On March 6, 1918, she was united in marriage to John Earl Swink, also of Poweshiek county, and to this union was born one child, a daughter, Verna Rath Swink, age 10 years.
She was a devoted wife, a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor and friend. She was preceded in death by her father on January 6, 1920.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, daughter, mother, and other relatives and friends.
