JACK DEAN MCCALL

Jack Dean McCall, 66, of Grinnell died Sunday, July 11, 2004, in Grinnell.

A funeral service was held Thursday, July 15, in Trinity Presbyterian Church in Clarinda with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Clarinda. Memorials may be made to the Page County Cancer Society.

He was born July 17, 1937, in Council Bluffs, the son of Walt and Artie Luna McCall. He was a graduate of Clarinda High School and Clarinda Junior College. He was married on Sept. 15, 1989, to Shawn Link. A carpenter, he owned the Leisure Lounge and later operated McCall Lumber Company after his father died. He also played bass guitar in the band "The Country Playboys." He enjoyed cars and at one time raced stock cars.

He is survived by his wife Shawn of Grinnell; his children, Michelle Porter and Jim McCall of St. Joseph, Mo., Chris Link of Grinnell, Misty Moline of Baxter and Lee Link of North English; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters Neva Humphrey and Dorothy Durfy and one brother, Junior McCall, all of Clarinda. He was preceded in death by his parents.
