ANNIE M. HENRY,
FORMER RESIDENT,
DIES IN KANSASMrs. Annie M. Henry, 92, of Arkansas City, Kan., a former Grinnell resident, died at a hospital in Arkansas City on July 15th.
She had moved from Grinnell to that community about two years ago to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. J.B. McLeod.
Funeral services were held there Friday morning. Burial was Saturday morning at Evergreen cemetery in Emmettsburg, Iowa.
Born Nov. 12th, 1872, in Omaha, Neb., she was the daughter of James S. and Dora Watson Cameron. She was married to Frank E. Henry on June 11th, 1900, at Omaha. He was ordained a minister in the Congregational church in September of that year and they served the Saratoga church in Omaha from 1900 to 1905. They served at Garner, Iowa, from 1906 to 1908; Belle Plaine from 1908 to 1911; Sibley form 1911 to 1913; and then moved to Plentywood, Mont., where they spent from 1913 to 1917 establishing churches at Eden Valley, Archer, Antelope, and Dooley.
From 1917 to 1919 they were at Glasgow, Mont. Rev. and Mrs. Henry moved to New York City in 1929 and remained there until 1935 when they went to Blairsburg, Iowa, to stay until 1941. They served at Anita from 1942 to 1944; Eldon from 1945 to 1947; and at Eddyville from 1948 to 1950 where they served at Ottumwa First Congregational church.
Rev. and Mrs. Henry retired to Mayflower Home at Grinnell in 1960 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 30th, 1962.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. J.B. (Margaret) McLeod of Arkansas City, Kan.; a son, Phillip F. Henry of Springfield, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Trimble of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Glen Henry, in 1958.
