MRS. DIELEMAN SERVICES HELD
Elsie Graham Dieleman, 84, of Creston, formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Dec. 7, at Friendship Manor.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronald Schrock of the First Baptist Church of Creston officiating. Organist was Ed Bohstedt, and vocalists were Emil and Elizabeth Gerard. Pallbearers were Eldon Gerard, David Graham, George Graham, Ronald Graham, Vernon Graham and Warren Merboth.
Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.
The daughter of Ely and Willomina Hoover Graham, she was born on June 29, 1903, in Poweshiek County. She attended Grinnell schools, graduating from high school here in 1923. She was also a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.
She had taught at several schools in Iowa, retiring in 1970. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Eieleman Auto Parts Store, retiring from that post in 1981.
She was married to Elmer John "George" Dieleman on July 30, 1943, in Grinnell. The couple had lived in Creston since 1946.
Mrs. Dieleman was a charter member of Alpha Gamma Chaper of Alpha Delta Kappa, a teachers' sorority. She was also a member of the American Association of University Women and Ruth Circle and the Winmore Class of the First Baptist Church of Creston.
There are no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Ethel Brooks; and one brother, Earl E. Graham.
