RITES HELD FOR MR. DIELEMAN

Elmer John (George) Dieleman, 76, of Creston, formerly of Sully, died Oct. 21, at Creston.

Funeral services were conducted on Oct. 25 at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston, with burial at Hazelwood Cemetery here. Pallbearers were George Graham, Vernon Graham and Kenneth Eggman of Grinnell, Eldon Gerard of Brooklyn, and Warren Nichols and Warren Merboth of Creston.

The son of John and Sara Dieleman, he was born April 28, 1906, near Reasnor. He attended rural schools and graduated from Sully High School in 1925. In 1930, he began his own garage business, which continued for 10 years. After selling the business, he worked for the Owatonne Tool Co., the Maytag Co. and the Parsons Manufacturing Co. of Newton.

He was married to Elsie Lucille Graham of Grinnell in 1943.

In 1946, he moved to Creston, establishing the NAPA Auto Parts Store there, combined with a large machine shop. He retired in November 1981.

Mr. Dieleman was a member of the Vanmark Co. of Creston since 1950, serving as president for seven years. He was a member of the Lebanon Lodge No. 227, AF & AF, of Lynnville.

Survivors include his wife and two sisters, Mabel Brown of Adel and Jeanette Long of Petaluma, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lester.
