HAROLD BRADLEY SERVICES HELD
Harold A. Bradley, 71, of 1405 West St. died Saturday afternoon, March 1, at his home.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. James P. Russell, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers were Dan Agnew, Ray Bahrenfuse, Gene Berry, Charles Butcher, Kevin J. Griffin, John L. Hotchkin, and Ray Ryan.
Graveside rites were conducted at Hazelwood Cemetery by the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit. Memorials in Mr. Bradley's name may be made to Grinnell General Hospital or to the Heart Fund.
The son of Thomas and Nellie Schultz Bradley, he was born Dec. 29, 1908, in Grinnell. He attended schools here, graduating from Grinnell High School. He had lived in Grinnell all his life.
During World War II, Mr. Bradley served with the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was employed by the Department of Transportation for 17 years and later worked for the Maytag Co. as a machinist until his retirement.
He was a member of the Focht-Tennant Post No. 53, American Legion, the Amvets Post of the Beaverdale American Legion, and the Grinnell Coin Club.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; his children, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) Cady of Des Moines, Mrs. Alan (Janet) Albright of Des Moines, and Robert Bradley of Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Bowman and Mrs. Gladys Enich; and a brother, Thomas G. Bradley.
