VIRGINIA MORGAN

Virginia Morgan, 84, of Rte. 2, Montezuma, died Wednesday, May 3, at the Senior Home in Montezuma.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Grace United Methodist church in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Kalen K. Fristad officiating. Organist was Carol McClenathan, and soloist was Marian Duffus.

Pallbearers were Terry Osborne, Cory Hall, David Morgan, Chris Morgan, Scott Morgan and David Keller. Honorary bearers were Emil Arvidson and Homer Ryan.

Burial was in Brooklyn Cemetery, with the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of John Freeman and Mary Frances Gowl Lytle, she was born March 6, 1905, in Scott Township. She received her education in a rural school and at Brooklyn High School where she graduated in 1925. She taught rural school for three years.

On Feb. 6, 1929, she was married to Robert M. Morgan at Brooklyn. The couple farmed northeast of Montezuma.

Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Social Circle Club, Willing Workers and Fairview Ladies Aid. She was a 4-H leader for 20 years.

Surviving are her husband, Robert; two sons, Mervin of Grinnell and Gene of Brooklyn; one daughter, Betty Osborne of Brooklyn; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
