RITES HELD FOR MR. SWATOSH

Funeral services for William J. Swatosh, 32, of Newton, formerly of Grinnell, who died Saturday, May 10, of injuries he received in a three-car accident near Kellogg, were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. K.F. Johnson, pastor of the Grace Christian Church of Newton, officiated. Burial was in the Brooklyn Cemetery.

The son of Dale F. and Opal A. McConnell Swatosh, he was born on June 26, 1953, in Grinnell. He was a graduate of Grinnell High School.

On May 12, 1985, he was married to Diane Filson in Newton. Mr. Swatosh was a parttime farm laborer and a cook. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his wife Diane; his parents; two brothers, Claire of the U.S. Marine Corps in Memphis, Tenn., and Duane of Kansas City, Mo.; and three sisters, Emily Lowe, Joyce Swatosh and Cindi Allison of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Judith, in infancy.
