MRS. MATTINGLY
RITES HELD

Edna M. Mattingly, 78, of Montezuma, formerly of Grinnell, died Thursday, Aug. 9, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma, with the Rev. John Darlington of the United Methodist Church officiating. Music was provided by Kathleen Ramsey, organist. Pallbearers were Merle Dimit, Walter Hockey, Kenneth Schultz, Kevin Osborn, Joe Mattingly and Sam Mattingly. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery here.

The daughter of Frank and E. June Haynes Hays, she was born June 6, 1906, at Gilman. She attended rural schools in Poweshiek County and Malcom High School.

On Sept. 20, 1926, she was married to Yuille E. Mattingly in Grinnell. They lived on a farm for several years before moving to Grinnell. They lived in Montezuma for the past 11 years.

Mrs. Mattingly is survived by her husband; two sisters, Maye Armentrout of Dayton, Ohio, and Betty Gallagher of West Branch; and one brother, Ronald Hays of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
