FUNERAL SERVICES FOR
MRS. ADA DEEDRICK
AT SHERIDAN CHURCH

Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Elizabeth Deedrick, who died Sunday at her home on West street, Grinnell, were held Wednesday afternoon, July 21, at 2 p.m. at the Sheridan Methodist church.

Rev. Orland Mitchell of the Sheridan Methodist church and Dr. John DeLong of the Grinnell Methodist church were in charge of the services. Burial was in Sheridan cemetery.

Music was by Mrs. Floy Dempster and Mrs. Dolph Miller and flower bearers were Mrs. Paul Jantzen and Mrs. Raymond Norris.

Pall bears were Kenneth Haynes, Bud Oltrogge, James Oltrogge, Allen Meyer, Clifton Meyer and Harlan Wright.

Ada Elizabeth, daughter of William T. and Mary Anthony Haynes, was born April 23, 1889, in Sheridan township, Poweshiek county, and passed away July 18, 1954, at her home in Grinnell at the age of 65 years, two months and 21 days. She was severely stricken Easter Sunday and remained bedfast and helpless until her passing.

She grew to young womanhood on a farm near Sheridan and attended the rural schools there. She united with the Sheridan Methodist church in her early life and remained a member until her death.

She was married to Joseph M. Deedrick on January 19th, 1910 at the home of her sister in Columbia township. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Merle C. Dimit of Newton. Mrs. Deedrick was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters. Mrs. June Hays of 1209 Summer Street, Grinnell, Mrs. Frank Wright of Ottosen, Mrs. William Oltrogge of 828 Park Street, Grinnell and Mrs. William Schroeder of Tama, one brother, Ellis Haynes of Santa Ana, Calif., her daughter of Newton, Mrs. Merle Dimit and granddaughter Karen Dimit survive.

Mrs. Deedrick possessed a warmly human personality. She had the rare quality of being pleasant and kind consistently everyday. She was a fine Christian lady who gained real pleasure in serving her church and helping her family and friends in every way. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a beloved sister and will be missed by a host of good friends.
