MARSHALLTOWN RITES
HELD JUNE 20TH FOR
MRS. CHARLES WILKE

Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Wilke, 67, of near Marshalltown, former Grinnell area resident who died June 17 at her home following an illness of several months, were held June 20 at a Marshalltown funeral home.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. J. Roland Christenson, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran church. Burial was in Riverside cemetery near Marshalltown.

Born Mima G. Allison, Feb. 18, 1892 in Deep River, she was the daughter of Marion and Blanche Kisor Allison. She received her education and grew to womanhood in that area.

On Sept. 24, 1919, in Grinnell, she married Charles Wilke and the couple farmed in Poweshiek county until moving to Taylor township in Marshall county in 1930.

Mrs. Wilke was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church, World War I Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, and a daughter, Mrs. Otto Gersdorf of Anamosa. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Lillian Carpenter of Gloversville, N.Y., three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
