MISSOURI CRASH
CLAIMS LIFE OF
FORMER RESIDENT

Mrs. Patricia Ditzler Freshwater, daughter of May Ditzler of Grinnell, died Saturday evening as a result of a two-car accident which occurred earlier that same evening three miles northwest of Joplin, Mo.

Both she and her husband, Robert Freshwater, Jr. with whom she was riding, were taken to St. John's hospital at Joplin where she succumbed. Her husband remains in serious condition.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic church at Webb City, Mo., where the family had lived for the past four years. Another service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Fairfield. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield beside her daughter, Teressa, who passed away in infancy in 1958.

Mrs. Freshwater, who was 36 years old at the time of death, was born at Grinnell in 1929. She graduated from Grinnell high school with the class of 1947. She later took nurses training and was a graduate of St. Joseph's hospital at Ottumwa.

Surviving are her husband, Robert; a son, Gus, 11, and a daughter, Annette, 9, both of the family home; and her mother, May Ditzler of Grinnell.
