RITES HELD

Funeral services for Agnes Prusha, 76, of 1312 Broad St., who died Wednesday morning at the Lone Elm Nursing Home, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. David Goetsch officiated, and burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Organist was John Penne, and pallbearers included Emil Prusha, Rudy Musel, Melvin Zeman, Robert Samson, Charles Manly and Marion Onthank. A vigil service was held at 8 p.m. Friday at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home.

The daughter of James and Albia Petuse Balvin, she was born Jan. 4, 1896, in Vienna, Austria. She came to the United States at the age of seven, and her parents located in the Belle Plaine area, later moving to Toledo.

She was married to Albert J. Prusha April 14, 1914, at Vining, Iowa. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Marshalltown and also in Des Moines. For the past three years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Clark (Glendena) Wilson of Grinnell.

Mrs. Prusha is survived by her daughter Glendena, a granddaughter, Karen Kay Wilson, a student at the University of Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Betty) Wessar of Logan, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Albert in 1970; two sisters, Mary Blessing and Mildred McComas; and two brothers, Jim and Frank Balvin.
