MRS. NELLIE WADE PASSES AWAY
---------------------------------------------------
Popular Young Wife of C.A. Wade
Passes Away Sunday After a
Short Illness.

After a short illness from the flu, Mrs. Nellie McDonald Wade died early Sunday morning at her home in east Grinnell.

For several years Nellie and Sadie McDonald, two happy and talented young women, were among the best liked of Grinnell's many fine young ladies. Always cheerful, smiling and helpful, it was their part to scatter sunshine wherever they went. The death of Sadie a few years ago took from earth one beautiful spirit and left a sorrowing sister alone.

Nellie McDonald was born at Montezuma, Aug.10, 1886. Her father's death occurred when she was but a young girl and her mother with the two little daughters returned to her mother's parental home on South Park street, where her mother died. After the death of her grandfather, W.P. Wallace, the two sisters continued to occupy the old home.

September 23, 1916, Miss McDonald became the wife of C.A. Wade, the popular representative of the Standard Oil Co. Soon after marriage Mr. and Mrs. Wade made their home in Rock Island only to return after a short residence there to Grinnell. Here Mrs. Wade renewed her long-time friendships and maintained her popularity. She was a rare young woman and a large circle of friends sorrow with the loving husband in this time of sadness.

The funeral occurred this morning, burial being in Hazelwood.
