ALTA MUNSON

Alta Munson, 95 died Monday, December 22, 1986, at Parkview Manor in Wellman following a lingering illness. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24 at Asbury United Methodist Church, Wellman, with the Rev. Len Sjorgren in charge. Burial was a Wellman Cemetery. Powell Funeral Home of Wellman was in charge of arrangements.

Born Jan. 9, 1891 near Wellman, her parents were Frank and Lavina Wetrich Blumenstein. She attended rural school. Her marriage to Mearl C. Munson was at Ainsworth on May 24, 1924. She lived her entire life in the Wellman community with the exception of six and one half years spent in the Brooklyn community.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Wellman; a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary; a member of the WQV Women's Federated Club; and the Vanguard Sunday School Class.

Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Betty Munson of Brooklyn; two grandchildren, Barry Munson of Iowa Falls, and Carla Munson of Phoenix, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1967 and two brothers, Edward and Harvey.
