RITES HELD FOR MRS. DELOOF

Augusta DeLoof, 82, of Brooklyn died early Sunday at the Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brooklyn.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Patrick McCoy, pastor of St. Patrick's, officiating. Organist was Mrs. Francis Kriegel. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cornelis. Pallbearers were Lawrence DeVilder, Roland DeVilder, Karl Heitmann, Leonard Van Hamme, Oswald DeCorte and Fred Van Renterghem. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery.

The Altar and Rosary Society held a rosary at 2 p.m. Monday, and there was a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Monday, both at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home.

The daughter of August and Marie Saey DeVilder, she was born July 8, 1896, in Belle Plaine. She received her eduation in rural schools.

On Aug. 19, 1914, she was married to Ernest DeLoof in Brooklyn. The couple farmed in the Brooklyn area except for one year in the Ladora area. Mr. DeLoof died in 1944.

Mrs. DeLoof became a resident of Brookhaven in February 1972. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

Survivors include her son, August DeLoof of Grinnell; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Leona) Andes of Brooklyn, Mrs. Cecil (Marian) Macksey of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Dorothy Kochuyt of Hartwick, and Mrs. Eldon (Margaret) Burns of Brooklyn; a brother, Lewis (Pete) DeVilder of Brooklyn; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, four sisters, and three infant sons.
