NELLIE GREGSON
RITES CONDUCTED
SEPTEMBER 24

Nellie S. Gregson was born Feb. 14, 1874 at Tarrytown, N.Y., the only child of Alexander and Suzanne Watson and passed away Sept. 20 at Marengo, Iowa. When she was 16 years of age she moved with her parents to a farm in Pleasant Township near Ewart.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Smith funeral home, at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. E.E. Beattie of the United Presbyterian church. Music was played by Mrs. Rhee Auman on the organ and pallbearers were Raymond Cleland, Sheldon Copeland, Amos Myers, Cecil Myers, Ray Myers and Thomas Watson.

Interment was in Pleasant Township Cemetery at Ewart.

She was a life long member of the United Presbyterian Church and was a devoted church worker and Sunday School teacher as long as her health permitted.

After completing a Normal Training course she taught in the rural schools near her home for several years. In June 1902 she was united in marriage to Eli William Gregson, who preceded her in death on March 18, 1950.

Three children were born to this union, Paul W. Gregson of Lewiston, Idaho; Dr. A.M. Gregson of Wasco, Washington; and Vivian G. Harrison of Marengo, Iowa. Four grandchildren also survive, Jefferey P. Gregson, Ellen V. Gregson, Greg Harrison and Sara Harrison.

She was always vitally interested in civic and governmental affairs and kept herself well informed on such matters. She served as deputy county auditor for a couple of terms and was county vital statistics registrar for several years.
