FORMER RESIDENT
OF BROOKLYN DIES

At 6:15 o'clock Sunday evening in her home in Tama occurred the death of Mrs. Jonathan Wells. Mrs. Wells' health began to fail about four years ago, but her condition did not seem serious until about a year ago. The past year she failed rapidly, and for about five weeks before her death, she was bedfast. During her illness she was cared for by her loving husband, and relatives and friends, and particularly by her sister-in-law, Mrs. George F. McKinley of Des Moines, who came here to minister to her these last weeks.

She was born Emma J. McKinley, daughter of John and Susannah McKinley, at Victor, Iowa, on October 8, 1859, and at the time of her death had reached the age of 70 years, 2 months and 14 days.

She spent her childhood and was reared to womanhood in Victor, and it was in Victor that she was united in marriage with Jonathan Wells on Sept. 27, 1880. They lived at first in Victor, then in Brooklyn, then Belle Plaine and for the past twenty-nine years they have lived in Tama.

One son, David, was born to their union. He died in infancy.

Mrs. Wells is survived by her sorrowing husband, Jonathan; one sister, Miss Jennie McKinley of Glenwood; and a brother, George F. McKinley of Des Moines.--Tama News-Herald.
