RITES HELD FOR
EDGAR SNIDER

Edgar E. Snider, 48, of 5066 S. 86th Parkway, Omaha, Neb., died Sunday at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. today at the West Liberty Church of Christ near Searsboro, with the Rev. James T. Ross officiating. Pallbearers were Arthur Craver, Gary McCulley, Roger McCulley, Don Sarver, Arnold Septer, and Dick Youker. Burial was at the West Liberty Cemetery, with veterans graveside rites conducted by Marion Gibson, commander, and members of the Grinnell Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

The son of Franklin Clark and Margaret Ann McCoy Snider, he was born March 26, 1927, at Montezuma. He attended the Searsboro schools, and during World War II he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the Pacific theater.

On July 5, 1947, he was married to Wava Dilly at Oskaloosa. The couple had three children: Mrs. William (Linda) Cidell of Matteson, Ill.; Mrs. James T. (Mary) Jones of Encino, Calif.; and S-Sgt. Edwin Snider of Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Snider lived in Marshalltown for 10 years, Chicago for five years, and for the past five years in Omaha. Mr. Snider was general manager of Midwest Trucking Co. in Omaha.

He was a member of the Neighbor Masonic Lodge in Homewood, Ill., and the Medinah Shrine in Chicago. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 1 in Omaha and the Ashton Presbyterian Church in Ashton, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Wava; his three children; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Snider of Grinnell; two brothers, Charles C. Snider of Geneseo, Ill., and James F. Snider of San Francisco, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. William (Margaret) McCulley of Grinnell.
