WAVA M. SNIDER

Wava M. Snider, 66, of Fortuna, Calif., formerly of Grinnell, died Saturday, July 31, in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Smith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be William Cidell, Matthew and Samuel Jones, and Gary, John and Roger McCulley.

Burial will be in West Liberty Cemetery in rural Poweshiek County.

The daughter of Edwin and Henrietta Dilly, she was born April 22, 1927, in Ashton. She was a *1927 graduate of Ashton High School. She moved to Grinnell where she worked as a laboratory technician at Grinnell General Hospital.

She was married to Edgar E. Snider July 5, 1947, in Oskaloosa. They lived in the Grinnell area before moving to Marshalltown in 1956, Midlothian, Ill., in 1966, Omaha, Neb., in 1971 and Fortuna in 1990. While in Omaha she worked at Pamida. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and, formerly, the Midlothian Eastern Star.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Cidell of New Lenox, Ill., and Mary Long of Fortuna, Calif.; one son, Edwin of Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Faye May of Ashton; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Mamie Ehler.
