CLARENCE DURR

Clarence Durr was born Mar. 13th, 1881 at Champaign, Ill., and died Oct. 27th, 1955 at a Grinnell hospital following a short illness.

The son of George and Margaret Blank Durr, he moved to Grinnell when only a year old. A resident of the Grinnell area since that time he was married to Mamie Colhard at Grinnell on Mar. 3rd, 1909.

Surviving are his wife, four children, Floyd of Montezuma; Mrs. Egbert (Evelyn) Kingma of Newton; Mrs. J.D. (Verna) Shepherd of Newton; and Grace Durr of Grinnell.

Two brothers, Edward and Otto of Grinnell; and a sister, Mrs. Lulu Beadle of Los Angeles, Calif., also survive. Other survivors include nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were held Oct. 29th from Smith Funeral Home with Rev. C.E. Kingsley, minister of the First Baptist church, officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bohstedt provided music and flower bearers were Mrs. Lavene Kline and Mrs. Harry Morrison.

Pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, were: Ronald Beason, Lloyd Durr, Maynard Durr, LeRoy Durr, Leland Taylor and Glenn Sparks.

Interment was at Hazelwood Cemetery.
