FORMER RESIDENT
DIES IN NEWTON

A former Grinnell resident, Mrs. Clarence (Mamie) Durr, 80, passed away Dec. 4 in Iowa City. She had been a Newton resident for 12 years.

Mrs. Durr was born Aug. 1, 1887, in Michigan City, Ind. She married Clarence Durr in Grinnell on March 3, 1909, and resided here prior to her move to Newton.

She is survived by her son Flooyd Durr of Grinnell; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Kingma of Newton, Mrs. Verna Shepherd of Newton, and Miss Grace Durr of Newton; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1955.
