WILLIAM WILKE, 73
DIES IN MISSOURI

William Wilke, 73, of Columbia, Mo. died September 19 in a hospital at Columbia following an illness of three years.

Mr. Wilke had farmed west of Brooklyn for many years before retiring and moving to Grinnell. In 1964 he and his wife moved to Columbia where their son-in-law and daughter live.

Funeral services were held September 21 at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia whith the Rev. John McGraw of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial was at Columbia with Raymonod Schilder, Scott Dee, Ivan McDonough, Charles Voorheis, Arlie Dozier and Charles Moreau serving as pallbearers.

The son of Frederick and Eliza Fleischmann Wilke, he was born in Germany Sept. 30, 1891, and came to the United States with his parents when he was a year old. They settled at Montezuma.

On March 8, 1916, he was married to Hazel Herman of Tama.

He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Mrs. Fred (Leona) Lamm of Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Frank Cutler of Greene; and four brothers, Charles of Marshalltown, Emil of Riverside, Calif., Ernest of Mason City and Walter of Bristow.
