TUESDAY SERVICES

Frank A. Brown, 79, 1705 Sixth Ave., died early Sunday morning at the University hospital in Iowa City where he had been a patient for the past week.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert D. Dewey, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating. Organ music will be provided by Edward Bohstedt.

In charge of flowers will be Mrs. Myron Milhollin and Mrs. G.L. Morgan. Pallbearers will be Donovan Evans, Guilford Moore, LaForest Sherman, Ralph Spooner, Martin Pearce and C.M. Pilgrim. Interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery.

A lifelong resident of the Grinnell community, Mr. Brown was born Feb. 15th, 1883, in the Westfield neighborhood. He attended the rural schools of that vicinity and in 1902 began farming just south of Grinnell.

He was united in marriage with Blanche A. Meacham on August 20th, 1913, at her mother's home in Grinnell. They farmed until 1946 when they moved to Grinnell.

Mr. Brown was a member of the First Congregational church.

Survivors include his wife Blanche; his daughters, Mrs. Harold A. (Dorothy) Sherman of Ladora and Mrs. L.J. (Marianna) Duey of Grinnell; his sons, Stanley of Logan and George of Grinnell; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his sisters, Cornelia Brown and Mrs. Mabel B. Kingdon of Grinnell; and a brother, Harry A. Brown of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Susan H. Mead, Mrs. Agnes A. Whitney and Mrs. Alberta E. Harrington; two brothers Frederich G. and Edwin S.; and two granddaughters.
