ELSIE PRICE RITES TODAY

Elsie Price, 75, of 802 Park St., The Herald-Register's Oak Grove correspondent, died Friday afternoon at Grinnell General hospital of an apparent heart attack suffered four hours earlier at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Price will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. David L. Pinkerton, pastor of the Oak Grove Friends Church, officiating. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Price's name may be made to the Oak Grove Friends Church.

The daughter of Ernest and Lula George-Patrick Harris, she was born Sept. 23, 1902, in the Oak Grove community south of Grinnell. She attended rural schools near her home, later graduating from Grinnell High School. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and obtained her teaching certificate, then taught in local schools.

On Dec. 9, 1934, she was married to William Price at her parents' home in Oak Grove. The couple had two children. Mr. and Mrs. Price continued to make their home in Oak Grove. She was a member of the Oak Grove Friends Church, where she was active in the Sunday school and women's societies. Following the death of her husband in 1968, she moved to Grinnell. For the past few years, she had lived at Monroepark.

Survivors include her children, David George Price of Des Moines, Wash., and Mrs. Roland (Lillian) Yarbrough of LaGrange, Ga.; six grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Lindberg of Embassy Manor, Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, two grandchildren, and seven brothers and sisters.
