J.W. PRICE DIES;
SERVICES FRIDAY

James William (Bill) Price, 57, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died at his home on Monday, Dec. 30, 1968. The son of George W. and Kate Buckridge Price, Mr. Price was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Bevier, Mo., the fourth of ten children. He was educated in the Missouri and Illinois schools, moving to Grinnell in 1933.

On Dec. 9, 1934, he was united in marriage with Elsie Harris in her parents' home in the Oak Grove neighborhood. They moved to Omaha, Neb., and after a year and a half there, they returned to the Oak Grove vicinity, where Mr. Price farmed until the time of his death.

Mr. Price was preceded in death by one son, James William, both parents, and a sister. Survivors include his widow Elsie; a daughter, Lillian Hagebak of Mankato, Minn.; his son, David Price of Seattle, Wash.; and seven grandchildren--Richard, Jana, Vicki, and Susan Price; and Beaumont, Christen, and Haakon Hagebak; five sisters--Mrs. Belle Dyer of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Lillian Riley of Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Ina Tate, Mrs. Neoma Smith, and Mrs. Valdo Johnston, all of Quincy, Ill.; and three brothers--Ray and Daniel Price of Quincy, Ill., and David Price of Donaldson, Iowa.

Funeral services for Mr. Price will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home. Rev. Ercil Craven, pastor of the Oak Grove Friends church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hazelwood cemetery.

Vocalist will be Gordon Van Donselaar and organist will be Kathleen Heffner. Serving on the flower committee will be Mrs. Bernard Simmons and Mrs. Thomas Lowry.

Pallbearers will be Willie Laymiller, Warren Lincoln, Thomas Lowry, Kenneth Adkins, Harold Whitaker, A.F. Otcheck and Myron White.

A memorial has been established at the Oak Grove Friends church for those who wish to contribute to it.
