HAROLD PEARCE MEMORIAL SET

Harold G. Pearce, 72, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Grinnell First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert C. Smith officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery south of Grinnell.

Memorials in Mr. Pearce's name may be made to the First Baptist Church.

The son of George C. and Catherine C. Maxwell Pearce, he was born May 3, 1911, in Grinnell.

He was married to Lucille E. Hall on Jan. 10, 1937, at Unionville, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Pearce farmed in the Grinnell and Malcom areas and later operated the Pearce Implement Co. here. The family returned to farming southwest of Grinnell and retired in 1973. Mr. Pearce was a member of the Grinnell First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his two children, Karen Marquardt of Seattle, Wash., and Kenneth D. Pearce of Rte. 2, Grinnell; five grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Pearce of Grinnell; and two sisters, Alice Pearce of Grinnell and Helen Bell of Malcom.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Eldon G. Pearce; one grandchild; and two brothers, Wendal and Herbert Pearce.
