KENNETH H. COBURN

Kenneth H. Coburn, 82, of Fountain Valley, Calif., a former resident of Brooklyn, died in a motel in Sutherlin, Ore., August 18, en route home following a visit with his family in Seabeck, Wash.

A Rosary Service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, led by Rev. Fr. Stephen C. Page, Pastor of St. Bridget's Church of Victor. Selected readings were read by his son, Dennis.

A guitar solo was presented by Mrs. Robert (Susie) Irlbeck.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. Rev. Fr. Joe Rogers, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church of Brooklyn, officiated.

Kenneth Herbert Coburn, son of Arthur and Mattie Jacobs Coburn, was born July 10, 1910, in Brooklyn, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Brooklyn School and attended Iowa State at Ames, Iowa, for one year. On September 3, 1934, he was united in marriage to Margaret Julia LaKose in Prairie du Chien, Wis. They lived in Ames and Odebolt before moving to Fountain Valley, Calif. Mr. Coburn worked for the Brooklyn Creamery when living in Brooklyn and was a carpenter.

Surviving are two sons, Philip of Deming, N.M. and Dennis of Seabeck, Wash.; one brother, Don A. Coburn, Sr., of Brooklyn; two sisters, Mrs. Chalmer (Beulah) Read of West Okoboji, Iowa, and Dorothy Coburn of Montezuma; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife who died in 1988, a brother, Harold, and a sister, Mildred.
