RITES FOR MRS. ZELLA KIMBLEY SATURDAY

Services for Mrs. Zella Kimbley were conducted by the Rev. Martin Gruneich Saturday morning at the Steffy Funeral Home. Miss Alice Underwood was the organist.

Casket bearers were Fred Rayl, Karl Fleming, Fred Hubbard, Louis Schoales, Howard Bernard and Ross McDonald. Interment was at Masonic-IOOF Cemetery.

Mrs. Kimbley, 85, died Thursday, May 30, at Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.

The daughter of Mary and Louis Cochran, she was born at Oskaloosa on Feb. 10, 1883.

In her youth she moved with her mother to Montezuma where she attended school. Later, she clerked in the Racket Store which her mother owned.

In January, 1904, she was united in marriage with Homer Kimbley. To this union two daughters were born. They spent their entire married life of over 54 years in this community.

Mrs. Kimbley was an active member of the Methodist Church, the Pythian Sisters Lodge and the Mother's Club as long as her health permitted. When her daughters were young, she sponsored a Campfire Girls organization. She was an avid reader and was interested in all community activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Ade and Mrs. Thyrma Hender.

She is survived by her son-in-law, C.E. Hender, and other relatives.
