Obituary dated March 11, 1930

HENRY HEITSMAN
CALLED BY DEATH

Henry Elias Heitsman, a son of George and Prudence Heitsman, was born April 4, 1871, in Poweshiek County, Iowa. Here he grew to manhood and on May 16, 1899 he was married to Mary E. Linstead. Together they made their home on a farm near where his boyhood days were spent. To this union were born three children: Clyde J., Pearl L., married to Bryan Gregson and Claude E., married to Ina Mae Shaw.

In April 1924 he located his home on a farm one mile west of Taintor. It was here at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 28 days that his death occurred at 9:50 P.M., Sunday March 2, 1930, leaving surviving him, his widow, Mrs. Mary Heitsman, his children (who were with him at his death) and three grand-children, Olive Lorene and Lucille Eileen Gregson and Sheldon E. Heitsman. Together they mourn the loss of the head of the family which he founded.

He was a man who made friends and kept them, who sought to be a real man and possessed those traits of character which gave him honor among men. He was an ideal husband and father, always trying to do all he could towards adding to the happiness, comfort and convenience of the family. He loved his home, his children, his community and his country, and to knwo him was to admire him.

He died at peace with all men, forgiving and being forgiven.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. A.B. Cornell were held at the home Tuesday afternoon and interment made in the Highland cemetery at New Sharon.--New Sharon Star.
