Had Leading Part in Various Enter-
prizes--Moved to California Ten

A telegram on Saturday brought to G.L. Miles word of the death of his brother, William, at an early hour that morning at his home in Los Angeles. Aside from the fact that the death was sudden, Mr. Miles has no particulars, though he does know that William had been in poor health for a long time.

William Miles was for many years well known in the business world of Grinnell. For a long time he was in the hardware business here, first as a member of the firm of Steele & Miles, and then with the Grinnell Mercantile Company. Later he was connected with the Citizens Bank, under Mike Snyder. His last business connection in Grinnell was with the Spaulding Manufacturing Company, being a member of the firm for ten years.

He left Grinnell for California ten years ago and had only been back once since that time. In Los Angeles he was interested in real estate, although not active in business on account of his health.

He is survived by his wife and one son, William, Jr., who is now in the army in the ordnance department.

The funeral was held yesterday in Los Angeles.
