MR. CALDWELL DIES JAN. 5

James V. Caldwell, 66, a native of Poweshiek County, died Jan. 5, 1982, at Pittsburgh International Airport as he was returning from a Florida visit at the home of his daughter.

Following graveside services with military honors, he was buried at the Suburban Memorial Gardens near Dover, Pa.

The son of Denver and Viola Johnson Caldwell, he was born Sept. 13, 1915. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean Conflict. A one-time employee of the old Grinnell Shoe Factory, he became a mechanical technician for the American Shoe Machinery Co.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Mansberger Caldwell of York Haven, Pa.; a son, Tim Caldwell of York Haven; a daughter, Ollie Franklin of Boca Raton, Fla.; three grandchildren; a sister, Nina Harris of Ames; and two brothers, Thomas of Yokohama, Japan, and Wilbur of Flippin, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold of Chelsea; and an infant brother and infant sister.
