Monday night, Sept. 25th, Mrs. Lizzie Caldwell Wolford, of Deep River, passed away to the other world without a murmur, expressing her readiness for the change and a desire to be freed from pain and to be with Jesus. Lizzie Caldwell was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, June 9, 1870, and died Sept. 25th, 1899, aged 29 years, 3 months and 16 days. She was married to Samuel Wolford, Nov. 7th, 1889. This union was blessed with four children--three boys and one girl. The latter died in infancy. She leaves behind a father, mother, four brothers and three sisters, a kind husband and three little boys to mourn the loss of a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. The funeral services were held in the M.E. church, Wednesday at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Mr. Phillips, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery east of that town.
