FUNERAL SERVICES
FOR ANNA PETERS
HELD TUESDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Melvin Peters were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Steffy Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Dieken, assisted by the Rev. George Snyder. Louis Gorsuch played the funeral selections and accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stahl, who sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Interment was in Ivy Hill cemetery at Malcom. Casket bearers were James Playle, Emmett Johnston, Fred Zorn, Dennis James, Gene Douglass and Raymond Johnson.

Anna, daughter of Ellen and William Bruggen, was born on a farm near Ewart, Feb. 16, 1905, and died at her home in Montezuma, Oct. 1, at 55 years of age.

When she was a small child she moved with her parents to Montezuma, where she attended school. In her youth she became a member of the Presbyterian church. She worked in the Trimble Cafe for several years.

Sept. 24, 1924, she was united in marriage with Melvin Peters, to this union, three children were born. Their entire married life was spent in Mahaska and Poweshiek counties, except for a year in Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Virginia Lee Ewald, and Dixie Lee, a son, Marion, and five grandchildren, Dennis and Don Ewald, Debbie, Mike and Mark Peters, also her mother and two sisters, Helen Jan and Sadie Phillips, other relatives and many friends.
