MARY BLISS DIES
SUNDAY; TEACHER
FOR 50 YEARSFuneral services for Mrs. Mary Bliss of Grinnell will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home. Mrs. Biss died Sunday afternoon while visiting her husband who is a patient at an Iowa City hospital.
Daughter of General Francis and Leona DuVall Marion, she was born on November 17th, 1884, at Sedan, Kan. At the age of six she moved with her parents to Colfax. Mrs. Bliss atttended the Colfax schools and was a graduate of Morningside college. She was a school teacher for 50 years.
In June of 1929 she was married to Horace T. Bliss of Buffalo Center. She had made her home in Grinnell since 1916.
Mrs. Bliss is survived by her husband; one sister, Edna Marion of Grinnell; her brother, Dr. J.W. Marion of Des Moines; and a nephew, John Marion of Keokuk.
