FAUN ANN NORDEN

Funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon, Sept. 22, at Smith Funeral Home in Victor for Faun Ann Norden, 92, of Victor, who died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The the Rev. Torger Johnson, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Victor officiated.

Music was by organist Vera Beth Bricker, who played "How Great Thou Art" and "In the Garden." Casket bearers were Dave Glasgow, Ed McAdam, James Morton, Tom Morton, Dale Van Tomme and Raymond Rinehart. Interment was in the Guernsey Cemetery in Guernsey.

Faun was born on April 18, 1906, at Guernsey, to John and Nellie Atherton Morton. She was raised at Guernsey and graduated from Guernsey High School with the class of 1924. She also attended Iowa State Teacher's College at Cedar Falls.

On Jan. 12, 1927, she was married to Elmer H. Norden at her parents' home in Guernsey. The couple farmed southwest of Guernsey until their retirement in 1970. They moved to Victor to make their home.

She was a member of the Victor United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers, Dale and Lauren.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Emily Norden of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, Barry Norden and his wife, Pam, of Cedar Rapids, and Bruce Norden and his wife, Judy, of Naperville, Ill.; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Elbert Morton of Guernsey.
