MARY MORTON RITES TODAY

Mary E. Morton, 37, of 818 Center St., Grinnell, died Friday morning at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam Reaves, pastor of the Grinnell Assembly of God Church, officiating. Organist will be Kathleen Heffner. Pallbearers will be Jake Diehm, Dale Douglas, Max Hill, Don Hilligas, Terry Steele, and Vernon Van Wyk. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Andy and Nellie Large Davis, she was born Feb. 25, 1942, in Grinnell. She attended Grinnell schools, graduating from high school in 1961.

On April 5, 1968, she was married to Larry Morton at Guernsey. The couple had made their home here since their marriage.

Mrs. Morton is survived by her husband; one son, Robert D. Morton; her parents; three brothers, Norman L. Davis of Moore, Okla., Jack V. Davis of Grinnell, and David H. Davis of Indianola; and one sister, Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Hauersperger of rural Gilman. She was preceded in death by a brother Carl E. Davis, in 1977.
