MRS. AUGUSTINE SERVICES HELD

Pearl S. Augustine, 100, died Thursday, Sept. 25, at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Jones Funeral Home in Washington County, with the Rev. Greg Berkey officiating. Burial was in the New Haven Cemetery in rural Washington County.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Manor.

The daughter of Abraham and Sarah Jane Archer Wolfe, she was born on Dec. 13, 1885, in Washington County and was educated in that area. On April 11, 1905, she was married to Jesse Augustine, also in Washington County.

She had lived for many years in Washington County and also lived in Fairfield for a number of years, returning to Washington in 1956. For the past 26 years she had made her home with a daughter in Grinnell. She had been a resident of St. Francis Manor for the past four years.

Survivors include two sons, D.A. and Keith Augustine, both of Washington; two daughters, Iris Barker and Mildred Riley, both of Grinnell; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962; two sons, Frank and Bert; one daughter, Alice Arnold; four sisters and six brothers.
