FUNERAL SERVICES
AT EWART FRIDAY
FOR WM. CLELAND

Funeral services for William G. Cleland, 81, Grinnell, who died Wednesday morning at a local hospital following a brief illness will be held at 3 p.m. Friday from the Ewart United Presbyterian church.

Officiating will be the Rev. E.E. Beattie, pastor of the church. Burial will be in Pleasant township cemetery at Ewart. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home until Thursday evening and on Friday at the Ewart Presbyterian church.

He was born Feb. 1st, 1880 in Pleasant township, the son of William and Sarah McKeag Cleland. He received his education in the local rural schools and on Oct. 22nd, 1902, was united in marriage with Emma Agnew in Pleasant township by Rev. Woodburn.

To this union were born four children: W. Raymond Cleland of near Grinnell, Lona Cleland of Hyattsville, Md., Mrs. Peter (Helen) Kachigian of New York City, and Donald A. Cleland of Garland, Tex. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

Mr. Cleland was preceded in death by his wife Emma on May 16th, 1960, and by three sisters and one brother.

He had lived and farmed in the Ewart neighborhood all of his life. He was a member of the Ewart United Presbyterian church and belonged to the Elks Lodge in Grinnell.
