--Last evening at nine o'clock, at the residence of his father, Mr. Matt. Phelps died. He has been in declining health ever since his terrible accident on the Rock Island road, and he has for some time felt that he could not live long. Mr. Phelps has been identified with this place as boy and man, and his death in the prime of life has saddened all the community. His funeral will be in the Stone Church on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. The Masonic fraternity, of which Mr. Phelps was an honored member, will be in attendance. In Tuesdays' HERALD there will be a more extended obituary notice of our lamented townsman.
