Charles Robert McWilliams, son of Alex and Letitia McWilliams, was born Aug. 5, 1886, in Poweshiek county near Guernsey and passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Vern Murphy, where he has made his home since his stroke over years ago, Monday evening Jan. 25 at the age of 73 years.

On Jan. 19, 1910, he was united in marriage to Eva Dillsaver, who preceded him in death May 22, 1953.

He farmed in different parts of Poweshiek county until 1937, at this time they moved into Guernsey where he made his home till time of death. He was a member of the Guernsey Methodist church and served on the town council several years. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Murphy, Guernsey, and Mrs. Jennie Yeo, Deep River; two brothers, Alva, Deep River, and Leeman, Guernsey, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from the Guernsey Methodist church Thursday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. with Rev. N. Grote officiating. Mrs. Mary Pidima played "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset." Flowers were cared for by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Norden.

Burial in the Guernsey cemetery beside his wife. Casket bearers were Eldon Herrmann, Harlen Herrmann, Wilbur Shine, Richard McWilliams, Marlan McWilliams and Delmar McWilliams.
