FUNERAL SERVICES
SATURDAY FOR
MRS. JANE CRAVEN

Mrs. Jane Craven, 84, wife of David H. Craven of Rte. 2, Malcom, died Wednesday evening at her home near Malcom after an illness of the past 3-1/2 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Saturday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Fry, pastor of the Kellogg Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Our Silent City cemetery at Kellogg.

She was the daughter of Robert and Mary Ann McIlrath Nicholl and was born in County Antrim, Ireland, Oct. 12, 1877. Her family came to the United States when she was 13 years old and they settled in the Laurel and Gilman neighborhoods where she attended school.

On January 10, 1906, at Grinnell, she was united in marriage with David H. Craven and to this union were born 10 children, nine of whom survive: Mrs. Fred (Evelyn) Coffee of Torrance, Calif.; Mrs. Thomas (Eleanor) Barnes of Leighton; Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Quinn of Newton; Dwight, Clarence, Helen, Grace, Joyce and Janyce Craven, all of Malcom.

After their marriage they farmed north of Kellogg for a time and then moved to Grinnell. In 1939 they moved to the present family farm north of Malcom.

Mrs. Craven is survived by her husband, nine children, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, and an infant son, Harold.
