MRS. JANIE TUBBS
DIES SATURDAY

Mrs. Janie Tubbs, 77, Grinnell, died last Saturday night at a local hospital following an illness of the past few weeks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Corydon, with the Rev. Ralph J. Houghton, pastor of the First Assembly of God church in Grinnell, officiating. Burial will be in Rush cemetery at Corydon.

She was the daughter of Robert and Henrietta Stiles Ellis and was born on Jan. 22nd, 1883 in Wayne county. She received her early education in the Corydon area and on Feb. 5th, 1905, at Corydon, was united in marriage with Oren Christopher Tubbs.

To this union were born nine children of whom three survive: Mrs. Charles (Josie) Brewer of Promise City; Mrs. Rease (Sarah) McCarty of Grinnell; and Guy Tubbs of Oakdale.

In addition to her three children, Mrs. Tubbs is survived by 10 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, and three brothers, John, Lee and Carl Ellis, all of near Corydon. She was preceded in death by her parents, six children, one sister and two brothers.

Mrs. Tubbs was a member of the Assembly of God church of Corydon.
