JOHN ALLEN FUNERAL
WILL BE WEDNESDAY
AT CATHOLIC CHURCH

Funeral rites will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. for John W. Allen Sr., 72, retired Jasper county farmer who died of cerebral thrombosis Sunday morning in a Grinnell hospital.

The funeral service will be in Sacred Heart church here with the Rev. V.A. Walch of Grinnell officiating. Rosary services will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. today in Morgan-Loehr funeral home by the Rev. T.J. McCann. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.

Born in Annawan, Ill., Nov. 13, 1881, Mr. Allen was the son of John and Alice Allen. He married Zoa Daniels in Rock Island, Ill., in December, 1908. The couple ahd five children.

Surviving children are three daughters, Mrs. Alice Strovers, Kellogg, Mrs. Margie Lewellyn, Oxnard, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Emmert, Grinnell; and two sons, John W., Harbor City, Calif., and Robert, South Gate, Calif. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and four brothers, George and Frank of Newton, Hiram of Davenport and C.J. of Chicago.

His wife, his parents and a brother, James, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers at the funeral rites will be Victor Ross, J.H. Ross, Dan O'Roake, Bert Stetch and Roy Foster. Music will be furnished by Mrs. Cecil Deutsch, organist, and Mrs. Robert Hughes, soloist.
