RITES FOR CHARLES
ALLEN ARE HELD
AT EWART MONDAY

Funeral services for Charles Allen, native of near Ewart, were held Monday at the Ewart United Presbyterian church with Rev. E.E. Beattie officiating.

Mr. Allen died Dec. 17, at Mt. Pleasant, Ia. He was 70 years old.

Son of Lee and Libby Allen, he was born in 1884 in Poweshiek county near Ewart. He was married in 1918 to Leah Philliper. They were the parents of three children.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Martin of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. Norma Braithwaite of Sandy, Utah; three half brothers, David Beattie, Louis Beattie and Samuel Beattie, and a half sister, Mrs. Rebecca Egar, all of Casey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Allen.

Burial was in Ewart cemetery.
