CHESTER GOUGH SERVICES SET

Chester H. Gough, 67, of Rte. 2, Moravia, the father of Mrs. Betty Voertman of Grinnell, died Saturday of cancer at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services for Mr. Gough will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Dennis Haas, chaplain of Grinnell College, officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner. Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of Benjamin Whitaker and Molly Eliza Henderson Gough, he was born June 2, 1907, in Hill County, Tex. While he was young, his family moved to Denton, Tex., where he received his education.

He was married to Della Lucile Monroe on Jan. 5, 1928, in Abilene, Tex. The couple had one daughter, Betty.

Mr. Gough was a member of the Church of Christ in Denton and owned and operated a truck line in that city. He and his wife moved to Moravia in December of 1972.

Survivors include his wife and daughter; two grandchildren, Mrs. Jami Fernette of Bellingham, Wash., and Todd R. Voertman of Grinnell; and three sisters, Mrs. W.W. (Freida) Reed of Lubbock, Tex., Mrs. Harold (Lee) Balthrop of Denton, and Mrs. Charley (Irene) Hornsboy of Denton. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
