Matthew Britten Reams died at his home in Madison township on Monday, March 12, 1901, after a short illness. He had been complaining but two days and on Monday the doctors pronounced it small pox and he died that night. He was born in Clearfield county, Penn., in 1856 and came to Madison township with his father, the late John L. Reams, in 1856 and has been a resident of that township ever since that time. In 1881 he was united in marriage with Miss Jennie Doxie, who with one daughter mourns his early death.
