MADISON.

--John L. Reams died at his home in Madison township on Sunday, April 29, 1900. The funeral as held on Tuesday from the M.E. church conducted by his pastor, Rev. D. Phillips, assisted by Rev. J.B. Hardy, and the interment was at Kent's cemetery. Mr. Reams was born in Clearfield county, Penn., in 1825 and with his wife and family came to Madison township in 1865 and has resided on the same place since that time. Last Thanksgiving Day they celebrated their golden wedding and it was not given them to live long after that happy event. Mrs. John L. Reams died March 14, 1900. The loss of his aged companion was an untold grief to him and after seven weeks of sorrow he has passed on to join her. Three of the sons and one daughter reside here and two sons reside in Nebraska, both being present at the funeral. A very large concourse of friends were present at the funeral, and the I.O.O.F. lodge, of which he was an honored member, was out from Brooklyn acting as escort and conducting their burial service at the grave. At her death she left one brother who lives in Pennsylvania, and he leaves one brother, J.C. Reams of Sheridan, and one brother in Oregon and one sister in Pennsylvania.
